I wanted to make a vintage scene, and I used Tim Holtz Paper Dolls, which quite frankly is a lot in the bag. I know I have been MIA for a couple of weeks, but I have been busy with school and work that I made art take a back burner for a while. So I will not be posting much for a few more weeks, but I will try. I hope you like this project and it inspires you to use up those paper dolls in your statch!
I bought Yopu paper (which it was very similar to high gloss photo paper), and I experimented with it. I also have many die cuts that I needed to use. I hope you enjoy this project.
I printed out some cute clip art and I focus on searching for whimsical objects. So, I printed a bunch of hearts and I instantly knew that they are growing on a tree. I made it 3D like, and I used embossing powder on gouache wet paint in order for it to stick before I heat set it. It was much easier than waiting for the paint to dry and then add Versa Mark glue. You could say I was impatient to wait anymore. The hearts, by the way, took a long time to glue down.
