I wanted to make a vintage scene, and I used Tim Holtz Paper Dolls, which quite frankly is a lot in the bag. I know I have been MIA for a couple of weeks, but I have been busy with school and work that I made art take a back burner for a while. So I will not be posting much for a few more weeks, but I will try. I hope you like this project and it inspires you to use up those paper dolls in your statch!
This is a simple art journal page using Tim Holtz paper dolls as the focus points. It is a very simple mixed media project using gouache paints as the background.
I have many scraps and I wanted to slowly use them up somehow. I saw many tutorials online where people create a mosaic background with them. I wanted it a bit textured and a little raised in some spots. Therefore, I glued a lot of layers on some spots and one layer only on another. I used Golden Gel Medium and old scraps cut out into little squares and rectangles. I used a 3×3 inch wood canvas, a wood frame and wooden butterflies that I painted black and then used Faber Castel Gelatos in gold color to give it a wood-like look.
